Search inside a video instead of scrubbing the timeline

Describe what you are looking for in your own words. VTI searches the timestamped transcripts it produced for your library, returns the moments that match, and answers questions from those same moments with a citation you can open.

What search returns

Search runs over the timestamped transcripts VTI has already produced for your library. It is semantic: a query matches what was said, not only the exact words you typed.

One file or the whole library

Leave the scope empty and the search runs across everything you have added, or select the items you care about and search only those.

Ask a question, get an answer with citations

The same screen switches from Semantic search to Ask a question. VTI retrieves the closest segments of transcript, answers from them rather than from general knowledge, and cites each segment it used with the same clickable moment.

When no segment is close enough, VTI reports that it found nothing instead of inventing an answer.

What search needs

Ingest a file or an authorised YouTube link and let transcription finish: search and answers work on indexed transcripts. Running them requires an active plan or trial, and the current plans and quotas are in the live pricing below.

Supported languages

Excerpts and answers can be rendered in any of these languages, alongside the original transcript:

Rights and limitations

VTI works on media you own or are authorised to use. It does not bypass platform protections and does not extract media you are not entitled to.

Automatic transcription and translation can contain errors. Review the output before publishing. Quality varies with audio clarity, accent, overlapping speech and subject-specific terminology.

Questions

What can I search?

Everything in your library with an indexed transcript: uploaded .mp4, .mov, .mp3 and .wav files, and YouTube sources you confirmed you are authorised to use. Scope a single search to selected items, or search the whole library.

Can I search in another language than the recording?

Yes. Excerpts and answers can be rendered in English, Portuguese, Spanish, German, French or Russian while the original transcript stays intact as the source of truth.

What happens when nothing matches?

VTI reports that it found nothing. It does not invent a hit or an answer: question answering cites the transcript segments it used, or abstains.

Do I need a plan to search or ask?

Yes. Search and question answering run on a workspace with an active plan or trial. The current plans and their quotas are listed in the Pricing section of this page.
